It was pretty convenient, I took a hybrid approach to what BSF instructed. I shot 100 rounds through the barrel then ran the bore snake through a few times with oil, giving a couple of minutes in between before running through. My thought for it was why run the brush and patches separate, if you are following them up on one another and a bore snake is perfect for that
