I think this is an excellent idea. They have a world class venue, as well as accommodations for overnight stays (cabins, camping, etc.). I’ve stayed overnight, there, and the place is great.

All the locals espousing it are central! But in all seriousness, it is a public facility. Could do the 1k range, shoot for groups on a paper range and get on the Sporting Rifle Match Course (??). I don't know if they'd let us use it (or what it would cost), but they also have the Backcountry Area High Angle Range. I've only seen it mentioned in their PR courses.
I may be shot out since I had to give up the location to a couple of guys from CO Springs who were nice enough to bail me out of some mechanical difficulties (actually, I was prepared for the difficulty, but my piece of sh!t made in China jump pack failed) , but I know of a dog town in the Commanche Grasslands about 2 hours away with a hill overlooking it with 500-700+ yard shots. Another hill is more like 900 away. Could be a good tack on for the ultimate bragging rights. Can't do that in the Spring though since the filthly disease ridden rodents are protected Mar through Mid June. Lots of yotes there too. And Sticks would have to wear a blindfold getting there.

With the cost of travel and hotels these meetings deserve uncommon activities (and entertainment?).
I was on a car forum for years that had regional meetings fairly often; each area would host a one-day "meet" 3-4 times a year and some posters traveled all around the country to attend. Some organizers wouldn't do much more than reserve space at a mall parking lot for a small car show while others went all out with sponsors, swag bags and discounts at restaurants, motels and venues.
Posters who have an uncommon activity nearby could organize some get-together and those interested could attend.
For example, a few of us here in NM (and southern CO) could make arrangements for range time at the Whittington Center.
Maybe someone near some public land in Texas could organize a hog hunt for a small group.
Anyone close to a big PD town?
Etc.

As far as I know the SRM range only gets used by them, they own the steel, and have special permission from WC to shoot there. So I am sure there would be a fee - probably the same as the match fee ($30). That would truly be an awesome day or weekend.
I have never been to the WC main facility, but people speak very highly of it. There is an RV park in Raton, all of 10 minutes away from the range.
Pdogs...I am sure there is a land owner somewhere that has too many, but I don't know anyone in Raton.
People flying in would have to either land in CO springs or Albuquerque. One could contact the Blue Steel Ranch, Long Range Shooters of Utah, and look at the list of other LR rifle matches that are held at what facilities.

My guess is that Blue Steel Ranch could be made available, but pricing would be along the lines of the JP brand. I can't see him doing it without having a chaperone / safety guy there who would have to travel for the outing. Especially this year since they are already in Stage 2 fire bans down there.

I've got 2 other good venues that can support us and our event, Ksw is calling a couple and this one is the last one on my list to drum up 3-4 options...
