I have really expensive ones that I wish I never bought but, the UTG Pro, Aero Atlas S-One, STNGR and GrendelHunter hand-guards are some of my favorites for 2018.
They are well built, solid, have great Warranty if ever needed and dont look like swiss cheese or chicken wire to be light.

I have this on a .300 blackout 16". I really like it as it's reasonable light. Comes in a bunch of different lengths. Good luck with your find as their is some really good inexpensive pieces out there.

Love the 15" BCM KMR on my groupbuy 20". REALLY tight fit on the barrel nut! Very light & pretty much indestructible... Model # for FDE is BCM-KMR-A15-556-FDE

UPDATE!!! I ended up going with the stngr. I got their 15" HWK M-lok with the steel barrel nut and an extra rail section. I liked the look of it and although it is on the heavier side of the house compared to the ALG and MI, their warranty and price point sent me over the edge. I emailed stngr asking if cerakoting the rail will void the warranty and the folks told me no. I also found a decently priced cerakoter who is willing to paint it FDE. Thanks for all of y'alls help in making my decision, the suggestions and info was absolutely worth it!!!

I think you will like that handguard. Just make sure that when you attach it that you have enough clearance between your gas block and it's inside. Depending on the gas block it is a bit narrow fit. I had to grind some to get good clearance for my Oden Works tunable gas blocks but they are a bit wide.

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely check it before dropping the gas block on the barrel, that way I don't run into any issues prior to the final product.

Don't get me wrong. The handguard would fit over the gas block but it just did touch on one side and maybe two or three thousands clearance on the other side on one and my other just had the two or three thousands clearance on each side which is not enough to allow the barrel to flex during firing and not hit the handguard thus defeating the free floating barrel. You will not be able to find out if you have enough clearance until you have your gas block on the barrel and then mount the handguard over it.

Once I get my barrel I'll test fit prior to locking and setting everything into place. I am a bit OCD/paranoid about this kind of stuff, almost blew my gun up last year when I got into a couple of boxes the overcharged PPU... One of the gas rings shattered on my old bolt spraying me in the face, luckily I was wearing eye pro so no injuries just sadness lol, suffice to say that is now my back up bolt. The last thing I want is for my new handguard to not clear the new gas block which will be sitting on my new barrel(once I get the thing)

I'll 3rd the opinion that the utg pro rails are great values. I can get 15" ones for around $125 off optics planet. And my of greed utg rail was a near perfect match for magpul of green. But I think I'm done buying even those. I think I'll buy cheap china rails in the future and spend more on glass or ammo. But then, I don't demand much of my rails either and have been pleased with my eBay rails thus far. Just keep in mind not all cheap rails are equal. Need to look for actual anodizing and not paint, and look for ends that have been deburred.

ALG is a nice guard. Also check out manticore arms transformer rail. I just put a 15" one on my 20" Faxon build that I'm finishing up. Extremely light and has removable panels that you can insert mlok, keymod, or grips.
