The real issue is not what title anti-gun activists (or book publishers) use. The important part is the legislation proposed (and the book's content).

I tried that defense a long time ago with my Dad. He showed me the truth in an honest to goodness wood shed. I have been a believer ever since!

From what I've seen, concepts like right and wrong, good and evil, moral and immoral, are subjective ideas that vary with time, place, and culture.
Second, I also don't know what truth your Dad showed you with a trip to the wood shed, but with my Dad it had nothing to do with learning right or wrong. It was about obedience: "Do as you're told, or I'll make you feel pain."
