FRB6.5, a contract (or claims of a contract) is pretty good independent verification even if from the vendor itself. Would love to see the details!

All the info out there about 6ARC says DoD requested a cartridge to overmatch enemy combatants at 600+ meters, and that 6.5G was considered but not adopted because it had inferior intermediate barrier penetration characteristics when compared to 6ARC.

Any videos on this? I have shot a unserviceable aircraft windshield with a 6.5G and it went though. Granted it wasn't 600 meters lol. 556 and 7.62x39 wouldn't pen. Wish I had my friends 6.8spc for testing. I do have another windshield to do more testing.

Article say the 6mm ARC is a replacement for the 7.62x51 or 308. That is not what I thought, I was expecting it to be replacing a 5.56.

Wow. Its amazing how one can go from "We'd like something to substitute for a 7.62 DMR" to "We're replacing the .308."
The Army recently adopted a new rifle, the MK22 ASR by Barrett. It's a multi-caliber rifle chambered in .308, 300 Norma Mag and 338 Norma Mag. They're planning on 7.62 being around for a while.

Well that's what hornady has said from day one.
Hornady has stated since the start that the unnamed DoD unit asked for a ar15/m4/m16 cartridge to replace their 7.62/308 chambered rifles.
Since 556 is the standard milspec issued round that to me suggest they wanted too do any with their DMR/sniper rifles chambered in 7.62 in favor of a rifle system/cartridge in the same weight class as the ar15/m4/m16, that could be used as a DMR/Sniper round and have 24 round mag capacity if needed to lay down a volume of fire if needed.

I haven't caught up with the whole thread, but it seems everyone is forgetting about recoil. A 6 ARC gives the slightly better LR performance over 6.5G but will be much faster in CQB. I can attest to this having an 18" 243 LBC that is a rebarreled 18" 6.5G. Also I recall (and probably mentioned somewhere in the first few pages), 6.5G was borderline on DoD barrier penetration requirements.

Interesting 6mmARC article in this month's "Guns and Ammo" Author used a factory Ruger -556MRP for ballistic research. Waiting for covid panic to be over before releasing it I guess.

Buyers Beware!!!! of Tactical Sh*t.com, a website that cannot fulfill a simple 6Arc order, and even though they admitted to that will not issue a refund, furthermore their website says "no BS customer service, return or exchange..." but all myself and at least one other shooter have gotten is BS and run-around.
I most heartily recommend that you not buy from them.... even if it seems they have the only one in stock (probably not true, only a different one is there). They will send you a different one than what you ordered.
I am currently in a dialog with them but am not being treated fairly. Also there is no phone number so you can call them to try to work things out, imagine that!!!! no customer service phone number.
They are located in state of MO, Saint Peters MO, I am thinking of filing a complaint with their AG, office of consumer affairs.
I put them in the trash can along with BCA, at least BCA would send you what you ordered!

grayfox...I've emailed Tactical Sh*t and 'encouraged' them to make good on the two incorrect barrels they've shipped to you and Dino11. Hopefully they will come to understand that in today's digital age, there's no hiding from this type of poor business practice.
