I'm using a vortex flashider. Muzzle brakes can get loud and the vortex is supposed to help accuracy. It does reduce muzzle flash.

I've got the WCI on my 24" barrel and other than it looking out of place (looks more like a suppressor) it does a good job. Can watch bullet hit target at 600yds.

My grendel has a VAIS comp on it. Seems to work very well. Unusual design, as well. I bought the upper with it already installed so I have no idea of before & after but it is pretty tame. I think I like it a lot.

I have a Primary Weapon System(PWS) FCS and it works great. I picked up from AA, I don't think they carry them anymore. On their,PWS, website they have a universal on the bottom, with an adapter. Mine had the 9/16RH threads, maybe a limited run? Might be worth a call.
People seem to like the WCI brake by Warped. Never seen or heard one.

I have the adjustable brake, one of the original prototypes, and it is an amazing product.
At first I was a little confused as to the best way to evaluate it, (Open, 1/4 closed, 1/2 closed, 3/4 closed, closed?) etc. However, I find that I either leave it completely open or completely closed, and I'm sure that is what virtually everyone does.
I was about to post a full write up on the old site, then the site crashed, then my computer crashed and I still haven't found all my backed up documents. I know I have it, but its on one of several different hard drives, and I just haven't been able to get through all the stuff I need to do AND get that done. I need about 4 more hours/day!!

BTW I was very flattered that he wrote that letter, I have never seen a letter of this nature written by a commanding officer, let alone by this guy.
He does not exactly go around endorsing products, while acting on behalf of the military.
Plus I would say the message was a very strong one at that.

The brake I got from WCI was the most efficient brake I had used for recoil reduction in the Grendel. Unlike many brakes, it didn't have any where near the noise problems of so many other brakes. Unfortunately, because I shoot in a really dusty area, the lower ports caused too much dust kick up for my purposes. I think Warped was working on a brake that would allow people to close off only a few of the ports on the bottom, and that would solve my issue of dust kick up.

I can’t speak for his 6.5mm version, but the Arredondo comp is the best comp I’ve used on .223 3gun rifles. A few of my friends like the surefire comps too, I think they only have a 6.8mm version though.
The Arredondo has a tad less rearward recoil absorption than some, but is very flat shooting and has 3 small ports on the top-right that take care of the 2 o’clock push. It makes it very easy to make a quick follow-up shot.
Read the following compensator experiment article from USPSA’s Front Sight magazine for more info about the performance of the various comps.

My money is on the Battlecomp BABC. Best money I spent on my Grendel. No more noise than an A2 and less than 223 recoil.

+1 for the WCI brake. I have used them on my Grendel's and 223's. They work really well. My wife likes shooting my
XCR in 223 with the WCI brake because she says it feels like shooting a BB gun. I need to get one for my 260 bolt gun.
