Gentlemen, Warriors, and Vile Unwashed Masses of the Grendel Horde, our MONSTER Ultra-Lite Three-Prong Flash Suppressor in 5/8-24 is here and IN STOCK.
Our MONSTER UltraLite Three-Prong Flash Suppressor is lighter than a standard mil-spec A2 flash suppressor (1.6 vs 1.8 oz for reference a bolt is 1.5 oz) and is much, much more effective.
Slim diameter of 0.740 allows installation of gas block even when flash suppressor is permanently installed. Installs via hand tightening or a tool when care is taken to not mar the finish. A drop of Loctite or similar compound may be used for a semi-permanent installation. Crush washer may also be used to time the orientation of the prongs, although with minimal flash overall it is not necessary. Crush washer not included.
Reduced flash prevents visual dazzle when employing one's weapon in low-light hunting and tactical situations and also reduces tell-tale flash signature. In test after test, three-prong flash hiders consistently outperform all other designs.
Black nitride finish for all-weather durability. Fits 5/8-24 muzzle threads. Diameter: 0.740. Length: 2.25. Weight: 1.6 oz.

Slick, BFT. The design is in keeping with the MONSTER barrel concept; keep the weight near the chamber not the muzzle. Is a wrench needed or is it literally 'hand tightened'?

Hand-tightened. I suppose if one didn't feel that was enough, one could wrap some tape on a screwdriver and gently torque it a bit. Or a drop of Loctite. Or a crush washer. Or Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) has a tool if one wants to get fancy.

Just the ticket for my 12" barrel BFT will be getting one for my shorty G. My 16" Monster isn't bad with just a thread protector and my 18" Wilson barreled Grendel is sans threads. I am looking for a thread protector of an outside diameter that more matches the profile of my 16" Monster barrel.

Checked with manufacturer and my MONSTER Ultra-Lite flash suppressors are on track to be finished and shipped to me May 1. Then I need to turn around and ship them to a nitriding house. Nitriding takes, roughly, 7 business days. THEN they'll be available. Can't wait!

Every 3 pong flash hider Ive tried or used has the dreaded Ping to it, any report?

Is the open tine design that does that much like a tuning fork, Smith 4 prong do it as well. The trade off for the ping is a much reduced flash signature and increased "snag" factor.
There is no free lunch just trade-offs, both types have their niche. I'll be looking forward to trying one for night time matches.
