  • Two US embassy personnel shot in Venezuela

As I understand it, from the phone call I received, they were US military personnel. They thought that they were dead and now we have to retrieve the bodies back to the US.

Caracas has been at the forefront of my mind since yesterday for another reason. Thought I'd share what my friend experienced.

On Memorial Day a friend of mine was out shooting with his 10 yr old son and a friend on their property in Weatherford, TX. They went to an eatery afterwards and noticed a South American man there with some family members. After eating my friend was taking the guns and gear out of the cab of the truck and putting them in the bed of the truck for the ride home. The older South American man came out after seeing this and went over and talked with my friend. They exchanged pleasantries about where they are from and this gentleman was from Caracas.

After chit-chatting for a few minutes he looked at my friend and said "Do not ever give up your guns to a govt". He said that Venezuelan govt passed a gun ban law and immediately began confiscating the guns from gun owners. It was done for the safety of the people and to get guns off the streets. He then said not long afterwards, the govt shows up with AK-47's and confiscates his land (the gentleman was a farmer). The govt said it is for sustainability and will allow the govt to better provide for the people of the country. He said they promised to pay him for the land, which was in his family for 30 years, but he suspected he may never see it. He is now wanting to move to the US to be with his daughter who is in Texas now.

Just food for thought. With the ever growing govt, abuse by the govt, targeting of certain groups by the govt, we used not to be able to imagine our country ever going the route of socialism or marxism. But now it doesn't seem that far fetched. With studies by the liberals of confiscating 401k's and IRA's, is this really any different that taking someone's land or their guns. They can't take your guns if they don't know who has them. That is why fighting any sort of registration is required. I'm sure we've heard of the 2005 Katrina confiscation in New Orleans, which is a real example of this.

Would anybody really be surprised to see the assclown in chief try to take a page from Chavez' book? After all, we know he's got a copy!

        Pray for peace

Events in Venezuela, as elsewhere, do seem part of a slow-motion World War 3:

Let's pray this never goes full speed ahead, but current events are far from reassuring:

Voting is a nice theory, but, especially in view of election fraud and the "two party" monopoly, I cannot discern that voting means anything other than what Stalin said about who counts the votes.

At the very least we can let the opposition know were still here by standing in their face and keep them purchasing headache medicine. The one thing the opposition fears the most is the truth and people who wont summit.
