  • 6.5 newbie buffer tube suggestions

Hey everyone I'm venturing into my first 6.5 project after finding a heck of a deal on a custom built upper. I have a Douglas ss 24" bull barrel and given the weight of the upper I'd like to have a heavier stock to even it out a bit. I'm leaning towards the magpul prs so my question is what buffer tube would work well with this combo. Thanks

Rifle-length buffer tube is the only option for the PRS. You might find a PRS kit that comes with everything needed.

Edit- Complete PRS kit near the bottom of this link:

                  6.5

Its just on my colt lower right now. Have a swfa 10x42 with sunshade and butler creek flip ups to mount but still have to order my rings. Then onto my dedicated lower. Work in progress

If you decide to stick with that lower, which appears to have an A2 stock, the PRS will work with the existing buffer tube, buffer, and spring. You can save some buck$ buying just the stock from Primary Arms for $199 (with free shipping):

Removing just one screw will allow removal of the A2, while leaving everything else intact, and ready for the PRS to slide on.

Drifter, thats a good suggestion. To save explanation i said it was on my colt lower. Its actually on my dads colt match target lower in the picture. I have a 93 colt sporter that has the two piece flat head screw for the front take down on my colt lower instead of the push-pin. Havnt tried the 6.5 on it yet but i believe its a large diameter front take down, ill have to check. My other C3 lower is a pistol and wouldnt work without changing a few things so i just opted to build another lower slowly and borrow my dads lower for the time being since it never sees use.

nice looking stick. I think you will like the PRS, it has lots of adjustment in it, though I have never used the adjustable cheek piece.
