    Howdy from TX

Heavy shooter finally getting on board with 6.5 Grendel. Intrigued by the optimization of general purpose of the 12.5" version, as my intro to the Grendel. My prior hunting experience was with a large-frame AR15, and I wanted to go as far as I could in the other direction, of a minimalist sized gun that has enough ass to be a credible hunting rifle.

Background (ah the insufferable "how great I am"!)
-NRA High Master, Distinguished Rifleman, two-time Presidents 100 patch winner.
-Development and applications senior engineer by vocation
-Tend to fire between 3,000 and 10,000+ rounds of center-fire a year
-Primary sport is High Power Service Rifle, but dabble in some 3-gun, carbine matches, and interested in part-time enjoying PRS.
-Hunt when can, but it's a secondary interest. Got a deer this year, first one in about 15 years (6.5 Creedmoor; and part of the reasons adding 6.5 Grendal, as a 20" HBar Large-Frame AR10 is a lot of gun to carry around - for a 30 yard off-hand shot.)
-Spend way too much time researching firearms and the sport, to optimize utilization.
-Not really interested in hate, though don't suffer fools well.
-Heavy re-loader: Records show over 100,000 rounds have been reloaded in career.
-Rifle calibers: 5.56 (still a big fan); 30-06 (classic Garand's, etc); 6.5 Creedmoor; and now 6.5 Grendel. I've skipped .308 entirely as superseded by 6.5 CM, and redundant to 30-06.
-Took years before bring in the 6.5's; due to desire to keep logistic trains as simple and optimized as possible; and wanted to see which flavors were going to win.

            Welcome!

I like the introduction; we know how great you are and where you stand on things important around here.
Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.
