New to the forum and just started lurking. Thinking of building an 6.5 Grendel upper just for plinking fun, maybe hunting in the future. I've got a Ruger AR 556 that I'm panning on using as the lower.

The 6.5 Grendel would be fun to have a little something different!

I also reload so I don't have to worry about finding ammo.

I'm mostly a single action wheel gun enthusiast. I bought the AR on a whim at the local gun show and find it enjoyable to have and shoot. Very flexible platform.

Welcome to the Clan, nawagner, from the Great Nation of Texas! What part of Iowa are you in? I was told once by a game warden ( just outside of Ames, IA, it was a friendly conversation ) that deer census is made by counting the dead deer on the sides of the roads and their sizes approximated by the amount of sheet metal around them.

Thanks for the welcomes! I have dual residency in Iowa, Des Moines and Marion. Not sure about counting the deer that way but I know my wife (twice) and son have both had deer run into their vehicle! They did change the law here so that if you hit a deer you can call a DNR number, tag it and take it home!

AR single action? That just seems wrong!
