I was just there yesterday and they had ammo but not a rifle to be found. It is a hit or miss with the grendels.

Oops, should have been more specific; was asking about ammo availability. I've got a barrel & bolt coming to me already.

ETA: Anybody know what kinds of 6.5G ammo Larry's has? It's out of the way for my usual travels and I have yet to find time to get over there and check.

LOL, bunch of AL members. I haven't made it to the CMP range yet but its on the list. I've been going to FOP but I'm excited to try out Heritage R&P club and shoot/hunt with friends on their land. Anyone know the laws regarding target shooting on AL WMA lands?

CMP range is a long drive from HSV. I haven't been down there but hear it is nice. I'd like to try the 600m range since I've never shot that far before.

I was in the Arab range till it closed and then in the Hartselle range till it closed. Now I just shoot on private property---not really any clubs left except for B&G and I got the impression (10+ years ago) they don't like scary looking guns out there.

Rumor is a new indoor place is going to be built near the old airport. New indoor range in Cullman coming too I think.
