    Deer hunting from Alabama

Hello all I just finished building an ar in 264 lbc/6.5 grendel that I will be using for whitetail deer hunting. After much consideration I decided to go with the grendel as my caliber of choice. I am looking forward to discussing all things grendel and hope to have a successful season hunting with my new gun. l will post pics in the photo gallery

    Where in bama are you?

I have a lease near McWilliams in Wilcox county? Opening weekend was terrible. Didn't see a deer until Sunday evening.

    Welcome to the horde.

I live and hunt in Dekalb county in the upper northeast corner of the state. Opening weekend was slow for me as well as the only thing I saw was a nice young spike. As much as I wanted to try out my new gun I let him walk. He will be a good one in a few years if he makes it. There's a lot of good deer down in Wilcox county hope you have a good year

Don't know about yall but it's been tough hunting on my bama lease

Very few deer being seen and cameras aren't catching them either. Almost as if they packed up and left. I was hoping this lease would be different. Oh well, it's still early.

Seeing lots of night activity on the cameras but scarce daytime activity. Even on daytime on feeders.

My lease is in Henry County

I put out one bag of corn two weeks before season opened and got pics of 11 different bucks. Since the corn ran out, season started etc. nothing. Very few does either. B

Looks like I may have to scatter a bit more
