    Looking to mount my scope

Hey guys, I am looking for some help picking a scope mount. I have a Nikon Monarch 2x8 that needs to go on my Precision Firearm flattop in 6.5 Grendel. I read thru http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/10/ and can't decide whether rings or a single piece would be better for me. I would want to stay around the 100.00 area for now. This will be a range and hunting weapon. I am sure the gun will out shoot me and my abilities but the range can reach out to 300 yards and my typical hunts are no more than 150 yards. I appreciate the help and will add any needed info based on questions.

I have the burris pepr on two ar's and a gg&g quick detach on one. For my new pf grendel im going with gg&g.

PF sells gg&g, check out the website they may sell others too.
Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.

Sorry I should have added that it is a 1 inch tube and I would rather stay away from 30mm to 1 inch adapters. The gg&g needs an adapter so that is out but the burris looks like a 1 inch specific.

I like the 1 piece mounts best, I have a couple of Rock River Arms 1" scope mounts which are very solid mounts but inexpensive. If you plan on using a backup iron sight you'll need the cantilever mount. I ordered my mounts directly off RRA website, might be worth checking out.

I just checked RRA has a special free shipping on orders over $50, plus 10% off some items ordered from their website. Here is a link.

Rock River Arms, Inc. offers a complete line of American made, custom built AR15 style rifles.

Thanks. I am not planning on back ups since this isn't my SHTF weapon. I will check them out now

http://leapers.com/prod_detail.php?m...temno=RG2W1204 Don't laugh at these, I have a set on a Grendel hunting rig of mine and they have performed perfectly with a 2X7 Nikon scope of mine. They are lite and strong.

They seem like they sit high. How is the scope height

They come in three heights. The tall ones fit me perfectly.

One of the gentlemen that attended my DM Course last weekend had the Burris mount on his Vortex Viper HS. It took him a full turn up to get the scope zero'd, so when he attempted to dial for ranges past 400yds, he ran out of elevation, and the scope only had the duplex reticle with no real increments to hold with.

For a limited close-range hunting stick, any decent set of rings or mount will work, but just keep in mind that if you ever decide to stretch your legs, you might run into the same issue.

What barrel length do you have on your PF Grendel?

Get a 20 MOA cant. I personally have taken a liking to the NightForce Unimount for reduced weight on a lightweight hunting or target dual-purpose blaster.

This is my Lilja-barreled lightweight Grendel:

You're looking at the mid-$200's for that mount though.
