Just found them on Lilja's website http://www.riflebarrels.com/products/thread_caps.htm

We are offering an internally threaded muzzle cap for AR type and other threaded muzzles. The outside diameter of these are .740" to match the diameter of our AR barrels in front of the gas block section and with 1/2" - 28 TPI and 5/8" - 24 TPI.

We machine these from the same stainless steel we use to make our rifle barrels. The nine helical grip-flutes are milled with an 8" twist rate - just like the rifling in our .223, 6.5 Grendel and .260 Remington AR drop-in barrels.

We'll soon have these available in a .875" diameter to match our larger AR drop-in's and also a .920" OD for the Bull barrel .920" diameter 10/22 barrels that are often threaded at the muzzle.

The price for these high-quality stainless steel caps is $25 each.

For quantities of five or more (sizes can be mixed) or for customers that order a cap at the same time they order a barrel, if they're already getting our discount price on a drop-in barrel, the price is $20 each.

Going to order one of these tomorrow since I can't decide which comp to get. This will work great until then!

Adam, way cool idea and execution. What is the OD of the 5/8x24 and is it threaded through, if not what length barrel spud is it threaded for?

                            Tedward,
If you are looking for a good 5/8 x 24 comp that matches perfectly with your Lilja barrel, check out the JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley brake.....mine matches 100%, no seam or step-up at all and the stainless is a perfect match.

Also are your 5/8-24 thread going to be thin to fit the AR-740 .745 barrel contour? I haven't found a 5/8 comp that will fit my Sweet Lilja and keep it looking good. Didn't realize the 5/8 thread on a .745 leave almost no shoulder.

                            And yes those are cool.

                              Is that the standard one?

I've been looking hard at those, but just haven't ordered one yet. Found one on their closeout that would have worked, but they said it was already sold. Did you go with the .350 exit?

I did go with the standard profile (not oversized) with .750 OD and .350 exit in stainless.......again, I screwed it on and the comp matched perfectly with no step-up and no seam. Great balance with the rest of the rifle and it looks great too. I use that same comp on my 6.5 Creedmoor and it works great.
