Is there a reference anywhere? Calipers on feed lips for proper specs, brands that are good or not, steel vs. Aluminum, etc?

I have a stack of 10rd mags and haven't looked to see who made what or when.

There used to be several years ago, but they rarely pop up anymore. I have always had reliable mags, didn't matter if CProducts, ASC, or C Products Defense.

If you bought them within the past few years, you're most likely good to go.

Yep - only complaints about mags, these days, is that there aren't any spec made polymer mags for Grendel, yet. Otherwise, no worries.
