Vortex Viper 2.5-10 PST-short battery life

I have gone through 3 batteries already using the illuminated reticle.
Usually I will turn it on 3 or 4 setting and have it on for a few hours in the morning when I am predator hunting.
My battery has gone dead in less then 2 hours!
Is anyone else having a short battery life with your PST?
I love this scope to death and not discouraging anyone from buying a Vortex product,just wondering whats going on.

I thought I was having the same problem...then I tightened the cover using a coin (instead of my fingers) and I haven't had the problem since.

That's what Vortex said,they are sending out a new cover and if this doesn't do the trick,they said to mail it in.
I had an almost immediate Email response from them.
Couldn't be more happier with Vortex..Cant beat quality,price or the service!

I have had the illumination left on overnight and not had this problem.
