I was just looking on Brownell and seen scope levels for sale, and they are EXPENSIVE. Anyone use any, and are the worth the cash?
Scope levels

Yes, I use them on bolt guns for long-range precision shooting when canting the gun is a critical issue. On short-medium range guns not so important. The AR scope axis does sit high however at 2.5" so if you have one and you shoot distance it will help. AADMOUNT and SPUHR have them built-into the mount.

Depending on your vison, I would try putting something at the back of the mount (cut a 1/4" tall headline or someting from a newspaper, flyer...) and another around your forward scope mount and see what you can quickly focus on. I can not use the closer "Back of the mount" type. My left eye will not focus on it without coming off my firing position. I have to use a scope tube mounted just forward of the turrets.
Cheap Chinese "Discovery" off Amazon, holds up to Grendel abuse and keeps consistent level.Sticks

I also used the cheap discovery ones off amazon once. I had a tube fall out of the level as they were just glued in. I then found some that had a mechanical c clip holding them in. I've since switched over to them. The Burris one is really nice too, and works on both 34 or 30mm scopes. I got a good deal on it from amazon "used" and prefer it to any of the others I've used.
This is the one I have on my grendel, look at the pics and you'll see one on the end showing the c clip https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hunting-All...item44008df1f6
I also like to use the level far forward on the scope. While behind the gun I can have both eyes open and see I'm level, then focus through the scope and make the shot.
Here you can see the level just in front of the forward scope ring.

The new SIG optics with Digital level is something I'm interested in.
For the budget-minded, you can attach one of the levels that comes off the back of a TV or cheap hardware store levels, but they won't be as exact.
They range from around $30 to $120, depending on how accurate you want to maintain consistent cant.
It becomes more of an issue as the distance increases.

Looks like it's the same as the Discovery. May or may not have the c-clip. Probably glued.
You can pay $10 to $15 for a cheap import, or $30 for a Vortex (I would think they have the lifetime warranty as well), or north of $100 for other name brand items.
So long as it holds together, you should be set.Sticks
