    Magazines

I have seen that the AA or E-Lander mags are the way to go,
what other mags are good/reliable and why?
    Stoner?
    C Products?
    E-lander?
    Franklin Armory?
That's about all I found, but not easily in stock.

    Next is what size?
To compare to 223, I love 30 round mags for every day use, or prone to mono pod from.
but I run 20 rounders whenever I need to shoot from a bench or rooftop for example.
I am assuming I will want to run some 17 rounders as standard and 10 for clearance?
How are the larger higher cap mags?
Can I mono pod off the mag without feeding issues? (Unlike the 223 surefire 60 round mags...)

To again compare to 223, my comfort zone,
I would rate mags like this.
Magpul, my preferred unless I have to drop full mags on concrete. (I like the gen2 with the window. I can check my work
Teflon coated GI with magpul follower, good to go,
Sure fire high cap, ok for standing but fail to feed from prone if any weight is put on the mag.
GI mags, avoid unless follower is upgraded,
Troy polymer, good to go, never had any issues.
Pro mag, stay away from at all cost

I am planning on grabbing a 17 and two 10 rounders from AA in the E-Landers.
But am am curious about the sizes and how you guys use them.

I mainly use the 10 rounders. I am a hunter and the ten round mags are small enough to pack and light. Ten rounds is more than enough unless I run into a large group of hogs. I do have some 17 round and high capacity mags but have not used them to date. I use the Elanders. I have some ASC but have had issues with a few of them. If never had an issue with the Elanders.

I use my Grendels mostly for target shooting so generally use the 10 rd mags. I have a couple 17 rd mags just because. I have ASC mags and I've had no problem with them. I do smooth the mag lips with emery cloth and put a small bevel at the front inside edge of the mag to minimize scratches on the brass.

Cb4017 that's a good idea trimming the mag and smooth all out the lips

17rd mags have plenty of clearance on the bench or prone supported.

I think the 17rd Elanders are my preferred mag right now.

All the experiences I've had with 25rd CProducts mags have been malfunction-free, including many multiple day courses with multiple shooters in the same course.

Average round count per day is 125rds, shooting targets at distance.

I currently have one 10 round C-Products and one 20 round C-Products magazine.

The 10 round mag had three failures to feed in an aluminum lower (right after the first shot in a newly loaded mag). Zero issues in a Polymer80 lower.

The 20 round mag had zero issues in an aluminum lower. It bulges a lot though when loaded and is super tight in a Polymer80 lower.

I have Elander mags on order.

I am unhappy with the elander 10 round mags. one had a spotweld break free at the top and is useless now and other 10 rounders just stick like they are spreading. and this is in lowers made by AA and others. its the mags.
