    Better stock for bench shooting?

I currently have a Magpul CTR stock on my 6.5. To me, it seems to slide on the tailbag and raise the muzzle when I shoot. I know it's partly probably due to less than perfect technique on my part, but is there a relatively economical adjustable stock out there that sits on sandbags better than my CTR?

    Thanks!
If it ain't fun, why bother doin' it?

After doing some 'Net searching and reading reviews, that one does seem to be my best choice, although it looks like I'll need a new buffer kit. JoeBobs seems to have the best price on the whole package, too.

Edit: Buffer kit is out of stock at JoeBobs, and no backorder and no ETA. Maybe Primary Arms?

The best stock for just bench shooting in my opinion is the A2 with a foam cheek piece duct taped on and some LOP spacers ordered from brownells. I have a PRS and don't particularly care for it on the bench.

i have the PRS its a nice stock but it is a little thick height wise you need to run a taller bag up front than you would with an a2 you really don't need much extra height a piece of foam on the a2 improbably about perfect.... look at the m110

              Magpul MOE fixed rifle stock.

Tried the PRS and agree with mongoosnipe. It sits too low was not riding my bags well. I also like how the MOE doubles as a good hunting stock.

the perpetual taper of the a2 makes for nice adjustments the moe is a little flat then jets up rapidly

You may also consider looking at the Luth AR stock.

Wow, lots of good info here. As for the A2 stock, I just don't like how it looks. I know, I'm weird. Looking at the MOE rifle stock, it looks a bit more affordable and does weigh less than the PRS, so I may give that one a try and see how it works for me.

                    Thanks for your input, folks!

And now another candidate raises its head. What about the ACS? It has almost the same shape as the MOE rifle, but is collapsible, which I like. Sorry to be so wishy-washy, folks...

                        You are not wishy-washy.

Only real way to find out is use them and see which one you like the best for your type of shooting. Friends will let you borrow their lowers, that's how I first made my choice. As you move on you will find that one stock is better for one type of application than another (hunting vs. bench, etc.), I didn't experience any of the issues others have mentioned with the PRS but I also like the A2 and the MOE collapsible as they have their advantages/disadvantages which, if you think about it, should be evident. The PRS is heavier, for instance.

If you want a shorter stock but still have the soildness of a fixed stock they also make a moe fixed carbine stock and you could add a prs extended butt pad to add length if you needed just a lil more then the fixed carbine stock offers.

Just anouther thought is all, hope it helps you sir.

Looks interesting. Any one else have experience with their products? Comparable to MAGPUL? Likes our dislikes?
