Like the sound of the Red Army choir, the sacred halls of Valhalla echo with singing at a new Grendel's birth! Good job!

nice looking firearm, is that 7lb 9oz with the scope and no mag? my second grendel unit tips the scale at 7lb10.5oz and thats with no mag. i just cannot seem to get one lighter,,,,,

Yes. As you see it. Without mag. With scope. Of course I don't know how accurate the scale is. Was thinking about taking it to the Post Office to have them weigh it but.....
I could get it a little lighter using my polymer 80% lower. It really balances nicely with the bulk of the weight centered under the scope.

Looks great! Yeah probably not a good idea to have the post office help with the weigh in haha

NCM_0024.jpgSo, with weather and work, I finally was able to get out today. Temps in the upper 40's/low 50's. Started cloudy and then the sun came out. Almost no wind.

Because of field conditions, I could only get 80 yards today.

I could not get any A-max or SST's. There is only one LGS near me that carries any Grendel ammo, so I am limited to Wolf WPA steel case, and Wolf Gold 120 MPT HP.

After a few rounds I was able to get the gas block adjusted for reliable operation. Ejection was into a neat little pile at 3:30. I found that with the steel case, the bolt would lock back on the magazine follower rather than the bolt catch. Still need to tweak that.

Cases looked good with either no or very light extractor or ejector marks.

ETA: The target pic was with 120gr MPT

Best 10 shot group for the limited amount of time I had to play.

I couldn't get into a comfortable position to put a sandbag under the rear. Only had one under the front. Another rookie mistake: I forgot to locktite and torque the scope rings and it started working loose at one point.

All in all, a good day and certainly good enough for the hunting I do around here.
