Poison bait? Hmmm. Not sure if I like that idea.

    Lead poisoning sounds good though.

You can feed Skeet to hogs and it will kill them. Read the aside of the package next time you go shoot some clays. Will kill swine is on the side. Just add attractant and come back with a tractor.

I had some invade my place. I killed one and emptied the remaining rounds into the group of around 15-20. They have never came back and its been three months.

I hate these poison ideas because they hardly ever work. We had some people put northern pike in a lake here in california and the state thought is was a grand idea to poison that damn lake to kill the pike. Well they killed all the steelhead, salmon, stripbass, crappie and guess which fish survived??? This is an IGNORANT A IDEA.

the key to success of this is the type of feeder that's being tested, otherwise this project is a waste of time. According to the video, the special trap limits usage only to pigs, but I would think perhaps coons could also get in there. And you better well hope it's not accessible to cattle either.

I think it's very unlikely this method will see widespread use, but it's like the man on there said, this is just one more tool in the toolbox for private land owners. However useful this turns out, one thing is for certain Texas hogs are here to stay.

It is like the pest species here in NZ where they have tried all types of eradication programmes over the last 100 years with an emphasis on poisoning and they are all still with us and causing untold damage to our ground resources and to the national income. We have pigs to contend with although not in plague numbers but there is the rabbit that is, especially here in the southern central area of the South Island where they have the great easter bunny hunt each year where there have been over 100k of rabbits taken in some years and even a poor year may produce over 30k. There are possums that have started to kill whole swathes of native forrest and the 1080 poison drop kills indiscriminately with some areas are almost devoid of bird life while the possum still thrives. Deer, goat, tahr, chamois, hare have all been on the eradication atempts that have failed.

So what happens if they hog eats some but not enough to kill then and then they get taken and eaten by people or other mammals? Seems like a bad idea to me. Selective Lead and copper poisoning seems the way.
