I was at my friends ranch doing a mangement hunt. And prepping the freezer for the end of the season sausage day.
I started the morning going to the blind and I sat there for a few minutes before i could see and hear the pigs coming in. I could hear two of the pigs making bacon ;-) ;-) in front of the blind (It was all i could do not to break out in laughter) but it was still to dark to see anything really well. Before the feeder went off I could see what I believed to be a hog leave the feeder area and walk towards my blind and then down the draw to my left and not to return :-|
After the feeder had gone off I had 5 Does and this one spike at and around the feeder.
After watching the spike run off all the does in the feeder area and hogged all the corn on the ground for himself he finally came out from the penned area and presented a shot for me. He got hit behind his right shoulder and the round exited through his left shoulder. He fell to the ground imediately then got up took three steps and fell in front fo the tree line where I saw him last.
I shot this 75lb. Cull buck, that needed to be removed from the heard, just before 8 AM on Saturday morning at about 225 yards while I was hog hunting. I had a pretty good steady 20 mph cross wind that was gusting.
He was shot with a 120gr Nosler with 28.Gr of Western TAC. 2.20 OAL out of my 16" grendel with a supressor.
The other dear was the nicest one that I saw while bow hunting for hogs. I had 7 other bucks at that feader two 11 Points, one 10 point, two 8 points, one 6 point, and a spike
But didn't see the one crazy spike i was looking for at that feeder.
