Made it out west this past weekend and we had several pig encounters, mostly of sounders coming off large grain fields in the early morning making their way back towards the river to bed for the day. I'd already shot 2 hogs the day prior, but this boar dwarfed them both.
Hunting from a stand, I didn't notice him till he was within 50 yards, coming off a grain field and speeding through the brush. Before I could even draw my rifle, he caught my wind and was in a slow run paralleling me @ 115 yards when I made my shot between the mesquites. The 120gr TTSX Barnes entered 2" behind the facing eye and exited just below the opposite eye. Seeing the stout 275lb pig cartwheel from the shot was impressive. His cutters were not incredibly long (one was broken & resharpened) but were thick. This is the 2nd largest pig I've taken with the Grendel.
