108 lb 6 point "Velvet" buck (legal in South Carolina - season starts August 15). 142 yards. DRT Broke both shoulders, dropped like a ton of bricks, kicked 3 times and expired. No exit wound, jacket found just inside skin of off-shoulder. 123 gr. Hornady SST Factory round at 2650 fps from 24" barrel.

Double kill 2 x 150-200 lb boars.
First hit broadside through both shoulders. Second hit hit in face of other hog just below his eye and exited through the butt end.

WHERE IN THE BODY IT WAS SHOT - Steep quartering away - enterance just behind close shoulder
DISTANCE TRAVELLED AFTER SHOT M/YDS - 20yds - necropsy showed that his heart had been obliterated, as had his liver and lungs. He was a dead deer.

He was so heavy even without his head, feet and gralloched he took two of us to lift him. He was not more than three years old and a lot smaller than the call buck.
Yup like stone no kicking. His mates just stood and stared at him for 10mins before I moved them on.
Why I culled him.

Got 2 mule deer this season, both 4x3's. One was around 100yds through both lungs, went 10yds and fell over dead. The other was a 150yd shot and got hit a bit far back, ran 50yds and laid down, put another shot in its neck to anchor him. Both using 123gr SST.
