Anyone know anything about Double Star 6.5 Grendel barrels? 20 / 24" bull barrels in 1/9 twist. What bullets weights would work with the 1/9 twist?
Thanks, Ken
Look up Bwild97's posts and results with his 24" Grendel upper. Double Star is J&T Distributing. They're actually good folks, and make quality products. Their LPK's are one of the better sets on the market as well, with harder surfaces, proof and inspection codes, and quality components.

Are the Double Start bull barrels made by Wilson? I read thru a bunch of posts and it is not clear if they are ER Shaw or Wilson. Some posts claim the bull barrels were made by Wilson with the other profiles made by Shaw.

The one I had was Wilson and supposedly Air Gauged. Shot bug-holes with factory amax. A friend has it now and I regret selling it.
I ended up ordering a 20" bull barrel http://shop.ar15sport.ihoststores.com/default_v3.aspx they have both 20 and 24" bull barrels in stock (6.5 Grendel, Double Star). I am still in the process of building a 6.5 Grendel with a 24" barrel from Brownell's. Looks like I will have 2 AR's (in 6.5 Grendel). Now I need to order the rest of the parts to complete the second build. The barrel comes with bolt and gas block for $350 + shipping which was very reasonable, $15 from Oregon to NY. I pick up 400 rnds of Hornady tomorrow from my FFL (no more home shipments). I'll post pic's when the rifles are built.
When i called they thought they were ER Shaw barrels. Mine is scheduled for delivery on Friday. I am assuming the barrel makers name will not be on it.
It's in the box it came in. I plan on building the rifle next week since I am off for the week. The barrel looks great but it's how well it shoots that matters. It's a 1/9 twist, came with bolt and gas block, $365 delivered.
