goals - just a shooter, 1moa or better would be nice.

budget, i had not thought about it, i have been looking all over, im thinkin 300 range give or take
even considered a pf bartlein, but not sure i want to put that much in a barrel that i will never live up to

edit: did see the criterion on brownells, but not sure i want a 22" was thinking 18 or 20

AA has some barrels on sale right now. They come with gas tube, gas block and muzzle break for close to 200 bucks.

They might be a lil longer then you want but I'm sure they will shoot.

            thanks, just checked them out
i forgot to say i am in md, and md required an hbar
there is nothing saying you can move from this for diff calibers, but nothing saying you have to stay with it, so its a grey area.
to err on ths\e side of caution i was going to stick with an hbar

Wilson Combat have been getting good reviews as do Lilja. A little more up front cost but you end up with a real quality barrel. The heart of an AR-15 is the barrel and for top accuracy the stainless barrels from reputable manufacturers seem to produce the most consistent accuracy. Citerion get good reviews and my Shilen barrel is accurate.

I think it said it uses a .936 profile gas block. That hbar are bigger if I remember correctly.

They changed some of the specs they had listed. It was listed with a 7.5 twist now it says 9twist.

I was going to get one but changed my mind on the 9twist. I like 7.5 twist much better.

the law here is kindy funny, it does not mention an actual size, just marketed and sold as an hbar, per the state police intermpretation

Yea that's the problem right there. Your might run up on a bubba with a badge that thinks 936 bull profile is skinny lmao.
