The Odin 6.5 Grendel barrels have not been on the market very long. I used the Google custom search and found this thread on a member who built a rifle using an Odin Works barrel. You might PM this owner to get his feed back on Odin.

Hey guys. I figured I'd chime in and say hello. I'm not really new to the AR world, but I am new to the 6.5 Grendel world. I'm in the process of collecting parts for my up coming 6.5G build. Shes going to be geared more toward long distance shooting and to be a compliment to my Remington 700 build that I am also currently doing

I would stick with the brands that this forum knows well. From bolt design to reamers used to make the chambers in the barrels are known issues and differences from one manufacturer to the next over the years. Bill Alexander (Alexander Arms) is the godfather of the 6.5 Grendel and has extensive R&D on the round and because of all this we now have a SAAMI spec for this round. But during that time you have other manufacturers that brought confusion by coming out with Type I and Type II bolts and not following the same dimensions on the chamber as with Bill had. To the best of my knowledge some of this confusion was brought about with Les Bauer and Black Hole Weaponry.

I just checked the Odin website. They label the barrel as a 6.5 Grendel/LBC barrel. LBC being Les Baer Custom. They don't specify that the SAAMI spec chamber is used. I believe Les Baer used a slightly different chamber dimension. They bolt face depth will be correct as it is called a Type 2. But adding the LBC to the description of the barrel makes suspect that the SAAMI spec reamer is not used.

So this group has a lot of knowledge and experience through the years and they typically steer you to manufacturers that are using SAAMI spec chambers and bolts that are similar to the Alexander design.

Now maybe Odin is doing this as well, I have no idea. I'm just giving a very summarized history to show that there has been confusion in the past.

There are several go to companies that these guys suggest:

        Alexander Arms
        Precision Firearms
        JP Enterprises

        Just to name a few.

Buster is right with Lilja, but if you go directly to them you probably need to provide bolt so they can machine the chamber to your particular bolt since a bolt face depth will have some tolerance in it. It could vary a couple thousandths in depth.

Precision Firearms uses a couple of different barrel makers and Lilja is one of them. Very good barrel as Buster suggests. If you order from somebody like PF you will get their bolt with it and don't have to worry about getting the bolt and sending it to them.

If you are looking for a 16" light barrel you cant really beat this deal from Alexander Arms:

I seen that Odin was just about to get Grendel barrels in, so I'm sure there will be weird on them soon. I know that they have a good rep for there other barrels. But we all know Grendel's are another animal.

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

Built my grendel upper over christmas. First issue was the gas port was drilled too small on my barrel. Drilled it out and it's now g2g. I emailed Odin and they said I got one of their "old generation" barrels and the new ones are drilled out to the proper size. Accuracy is about what I'd expect( .5moa to .75moa with TAC and CFE 223). The velocity just isn't quite there for a 20". I'm still in the process of trying some other powders though

Factory hornady 123 amax were averaging about 2488fps. Not bad but there are other barrels out there that are the same length or shorter that will shoot that round faster

Lilja chambers to Grendel bolt face depth and lug length. Drop in a real Grendel bolt and go shoot.

I know that AA and PF bolts work with them, as do the ones Lilja now offers of course.

What temperature were you shooting in?

Factory 123gr AMAX averages anywhere from 2439-2456fps for me from my 16" AA.

Factory 123gr SST from my 17.6" Lilja averaged 2471fps last time I chrono'd only 5 of them.

60 degrees. It was one of the warmer days we had. The handloads were in a bit colder temps
