    Yea no it's not.

My rifle will come in under 6 pounds, closer to 5 pounds fully loaded.

Who wants easy? Easy is boring vanilla banana, I'm into custom fit to the task. If I wanted the same as everyone else, easy off the shelf I would hunt with a 6.5mm manbun.

And that would require pictures posted here for us to see.

Hunting with a manbun is like taking the fat chick to prom.

You don't show up till it's halfway over, the slow song is playing, grab your slice of cake and slip out the side door before anyone knows your there 😂😂😂.

But I will post plenty of pics of the custom grendel, once it's done and properly tested.

i took a std 22" bbl Howa mini, added a Stocky's CF stock https://stockysstocks.com/new-stocky...a-mini-action/ and went with a Jefferson Outdoors hinged bottom metal https://jeffersonoutdoor.com/howa-mi...ed-floorplate/

I also used the Talley light weight ringmounts to also reduce weight.

I happened upon a Leupold Patrol AR 3x9 which was being discontinued, which is NOT the lightest scope for the job but the quality and price were nice

rifle bbl action + CF stock + JO floorplate + talley rings + Leupold 3x9 + paint job = 6 lbs 1.5 oz.

a lighter weight scope would likely get one under 6 lbs without hacking the barrel or the receiver.

It is your parade, however, and I'll be interested to see how your setup with the extra expense comes out for you. There was a guy from BC Canada (Stinky Coyote, I believe) who pursued a similar path to your approach. If I remember correctly his mini is down in the 5lb range ready to hunt. Look for his thread on doing mostly what you're doing if you're interested.

            best to you,

This fella got his Grendel Mini down to 5 pounds. 22" barrel cut to 16 inches. Carbon fiber stock. Jefferson Outdoors blind bottom metal. 6 ounce Leupold FX-II 2.5 that's out of production.
