As I am new to this forum and considering a 6.5G bolt action rifle. I was cruising Brownells and saw that they have Howa Mini 6.5G heavy barrel 20" barreled actions on sale for $394. Sounds like a good price - just add a stock and you're good to go it would appear.

Looking at the barreled action also - then I just need a stock - like from Boyds; which may need some work to fit action properly. Then all I need is scope/mounts and ammo?

Boyds, MDT LSS, Howa LSS, Brownells has an LSS...
all stocks worth considering.

The last couple of stocks I got from Boyds has been hit or miss. The one for my howa HB, I had to get my gs to do some work (so $$) so the mag and action would mate up properly, otherwise lots of fail to feeds.
But it's working now.
The next one I ordered (another rifle) I couldn't make it fit for the life of me, so I called up for an RMA and they took it back.
In some ways I'd really like to see their stocks work... but the next 1 or 2 after-mkt's I do won't be Boyds... it may cost a bit more $ but less in aggravation."Down the floor, out the door, Go Brandon Go!!!!!"Comment
