Yes I have the 18" light contour barrel but ..... after seeing their products and talking to them for 2 hours, they told me they could build me a rifle in a week....so I decided to test them and purchased one . I should have it this week and will post pics.

I order a Neptune II Upper today with a 16" barrel from Mark. He had the 10% birthday discount which ends today. 10% and no taxes is a very good savings for me. Bartlein, fluted, and cerakote barrel. Of course PF takes a bit longer than a week

So a Grendel hard use bolt from Alexander Arms won't work?

If you send it to them and ask them to head space your barrel for it from the start then it will. But if they head spaced it for a type 1 bolt then No.

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

        Aim small, miss small!

          To be clear:

BHW is producing 264LBC chambered barrels which are, by default, headspaced to use a "Type I" bolt with a .124" bolt face depth. Upon request, they will headspace the barrel for a standard (AKA Type II) Grendel Bolt (including the AA hard use) if you ask for it while ordering.

Mark from PF is chambering BHW barrels with a standard Grendel reamer and as far as I know, are all headspaced for the standard Grendel Bolt (.135"), which also includes the AA hard use bolt.

I just got my 12.5" barrel from them yesterday. I cant be happier, I shot a few groups today with it. I didn't have time to measure them but looks under an inch with my hand loads for my 18" barrel. I ordered it with a type 2 chamber. They are clearing their inventory now, they have most of their AR barrel for 20% off if anyone is interested in a great barrel.

OK, put a 100 or more through it and compare Amax and SST again and post your results

So is the 264lbc the same as 6.5 grendel? I thought the grendel had a bigger throat

                        No, they are not.

Correct. They shoot the same round, but have different throats. 6.5 Grendel has a compound throat with a .300" inside diameter. The .264 LBC has a slightly smaller diameter throat, with no compound throat.

Just an update on my rifle. I went back to a range with a new batch of SSTs and Amax hornady factory loads and the results were not as impressive but still good. I had a 1/2 MOA five shot group, 3/4 MOA group, and two 1.25" groups with the SSTs. This new box just didnt seem as good as the first but there could be a variety of factors. Still shot well though. The Amax's shot exactly the same. All 4 of my groups were right around .700"-.800". My plan is to get it out to the 300yd and 600yd range next month.

That's not too bad, just keep putting some rounds through it... Mine seemed incrementally tighter after after about 200 ish rounds.

Thanks for the input Dan. I am please with these results considering this is boxed ammo. I am going to keep on enjoying it and if it does tighten up I will be thrilled.

+1 for the BHW barrels. I have four of their barrels now in various calibers and love them. All have been sub MOA. I also like that the elliptical rifling doesn't seem to pick up much copper fowling.
