Need to Order 6.5 Grendel SAAMI Reamer

After waiting for 5 months my gunsmith got to working on my barrel blank and discovered the reamer he had in his shop was a 6.5 grendel "match" reamer and was not 6.5 Grendel SAAMI as I requested. It's now up to me to source this reamer. Any advice on where to rent or purchase this reamer?

I have checked the following rental places
    Elk Ridge Reamers
    4D Reamer Rentals
    White Rock Tool and Die

None have a 6.5 Grendel SAAMI reamer.

I think I need to purchase a reamer. After seeing all the drama over the past year I'm thinking the best route to purchase one is from Manson Precision Reamers. I spoke with them today and was told they make their reamers as per Alexander Arms original specifications. It's a bit frustrating as I only need to chamber one barrel. How is the resale on something like this? Would anyone be interested in renting it from me after I use it?

I'm sure someone would buy a manson reamer from you.

What is the reamer for, an AR15 barrel?

Yes. I have a Bartlein blank I am having contoured to Lilja's AR740 contour and cut to 20".

There are plenty here that would buy it or probably be willing to go in on a group buy, myself included.

I'll rent it out after my gunsmith is done with it. Seems like no one rents a SAAMI reamer so hopefully it'll help the community.

I might be interested for a future bolt gun build.

Dave Manson seems to have the Grendel reamer in stock because it is not a wildcat.

Drop them a note or call. The prices seem reasonable too!

Hey I have been off the forum for months, busy farming, I have a Liberty barrel from the group buy I'd like to have reamed. Ive put a few boxes of factory hornady and some handloads through it that have to be loaded kinda short. Groups are unimpressive to me. Do any of you know any gunsmiths in the St. Louis to Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Missouri area that are qualified to do this? I thought maybe there might be some forum members who shoot F-class or other matches that may know someone around the area.

                    Check this thread for info:

I took my Liberty barrel to Mark today to get his evaluation of the chamber and the throat. He used go/nogo gages and the chamber was fine. Next he used a bore scope to look at the chamber and throat. He said the throat was short. He all so said that the throat was not cut sqare. He did say it was the compound Gredel throat. We

Got my barrel and reamer back from the gunsmith and placed an ad in the equipment exchange.
