    Any ideas on this barrel?

I recently purchased this gun off gb to get in the grendel game. The prior owner states it was an adams arms barrel, but i can find no info that adams ever produced a grendel barrel. Its a 20 inch barrel and the only mark i see us an 8 just forward of the barrel nut. The end of the barrel has a few grooves but i havent gotten to aggresive to see if its a thread cap or not. Any ideas?

If adams arms did, this is the first I've seen of one. Unless one of the guys that have been around longer then me can vouch for that, I'd have a gunsmith check her out, before you put any rounds down range.

The only marking i see is the 8 right in front of the barrel nut, unless there is something under the nut. Ive put rounds down range without issue. Im just asking more for curiosity sake. It does gave a jp adjustable gas block.

That does appear to be JP profile, designed for their heat sink, but no M4 cuts is strange!

BRO has used BHW barrels previously, and BHW makes barrels in that profile. I think inscriptions on BRO barrels made by BHW are sometimes just forward of the barrel extension where they would be covered by the barrel nut. The BHW website appears to be down at this time, so no help there at the moment.

Check to see what type of rifling is inside the bore. I think that BHW usually uses 3-groove polygonal rifling.

My BHW has M4 cuts, though I don't know if all of them do.

Never heard of Adams Arms doing one either. But i think Black Hole marks there barrels. I would think the 8 would represent the twist rate of the barrel probably. Black Hole or JP could probably help you identify it if it is one of there barrels.

Did you check the to see if the rifling is 3-groove polygonal as used by BHW?

It's as easy as a look up the snout.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?
