Ordering a 22 inch barrel from McGowen.... Twist rate?

I am considering ordering a 22 inch custom barrel from McGowen.... They offer 1:8, 1:8.5, 1:9, and 1:10 twist rates.

Which would be best if i shoot just 123 grain ammo?

    Thanks!!!!

Well from the AA school of thought a 1:9. From the LBC/CSS school of thought a 1:8.

An 1:8.5 seems like a good bet for a 22" tube. That is what I ordered anyway.

My 20" Satern barrel is a 1:8.75", so I'd think a 1:8.5" would be about right for what you're looking at.

        I'd lean towards 8.5" twist.

I like 1:8, you can still shoot really light bullets without negatively affecting accuracy and handle really long bullets if you decide you want to use them down the road. The only 6.5 barrel I have that is slower than 1:8 is a 1:12 purpose built, short range (100 yard), prone, any, any rifle.
