I have purchased two thread protectors from this vender on Ebay. The one pictured below is on my Grendel and I have had another for a while on a 458SOCOM. Shipping is fast and the price is right.

This one is black, knurled with a set screw. Since the threaded portion of my barrel is the exact same length as the T.P. (5/8") I put a rubber O ring behind the thread protecter to slightly recess the crown.
I have run a couple of difernt muzzle brakes on my 6.5G and while they do offer advantages I've been enjoying shooting with a naked barrel. From a hunting standpoint the shorter overall length is a nice as well as the quieter report.
