    Grendel Bolt Rifle section

There has been a lot of discussion/interest in Grendel Bolt Action Rifles.

Would you like to see a separate forum area just for Bolt Rifles?

Some might think that the Grendel is an AR15-type rifle only. It is a cartridge that does very well in the AR. Like the .223/5.56, viewing it as strictly an AR cartridge does an injustice.

There is enough interest in bolt guns that a Bolt Action section is a good idea. Also, this section might also have a title that invites break-action, lever, pump, and non-AR semi-autos.

Agreed. For those that would like a micro bolt gun chambered in Grendel, especially for the weight options it offers, it is very attractive. A great youth gun, smaller-framed adult, lady's hunter, mountain rifle, etc. It just makes all kinds of sense, and with larger bolt heads and beefy locking lugs, you can take advantage of the true high pressure capability of the Grendel cartridge. As I've mentioned before, my buddy is running 139gr Lapua Scenars at 2700 fps out of his Cz527, which is phenomenal if you think about it. That's way over military 6.5x55 Swede 140gr velocities!

                  Administrators take note!

Looks like good interest in a bolt action section within this forum...

No ...... there are only a couple. No fun having a seperate forum just to see your own posts over and over again.

Among other things, we might be able to find a way to order CZ 527 in the Grendel from their custom shop.

A group buy might get the price low enough to be competitive with buying one in 7.62X39 and rebarreling it in the Grendel.

Part of the uphill battle seems to be the perception that the Grendel is optimized only for long range and that 6.8 SPC is preferred for typical deer ranges.

Mutt, the point wasn't to see your own posts over and over...it's really to have bolt action info in one area for easy access instead of searching through the various forum sections to extract bolt rifle info...

                          Sure.

I like the group buy idea. How about a receiver only group buy? That way we wouldn't be stuck with the barrel or stock they choose.

Maybe include single shots in this forum as well... Split the Grendel Firearms section by auto/ non-auto.

For sure split AR actuib type rifles off from other actions types.
