That's cheaper than Radicle isn't it?

I just don't see how they can make money at this price point. I guess it's really non of my business.

I am glad there are companies out there willing to reach out to this market. More Grendels out there only helps us all.

Edited because there listed price does not include bcg, bolt, or ch. That's an additional 160 so the wolf upper is still cheaper for steel case

The address listed on the contact info is a residence in a rural area.

Should this be a RED flag?

It would be a Red flag to me, if I'm going to pay some guy to build a upper in his garage or whatever, I would just spend the cash and build it my self.

There is nothing wrong with home businesses... most started out that to begin with.
Now- parts, materials, and warranty is what I would be asking about.

You both make great points, are Satern barrels SAMMI spec chambers?

The Liberty barrels aren't SAAMI. To give him credit, his product descriptions do state that the barrels have the Grendel II chamber.

I am a new member to this site and have been lurking for awhile doing research on what to do for my first 6.5 Grendel upper. I have been debating build or buy and looking for best value. After I saw this site I got excited with the value it represents, however, was concerned it was too good to be true and I needed to vet it further. So yesterday I sent a few questions via there web form. In case anyone is interested here is what I heard back:

Thank you for your message and for the compliments on my website and products. I am glad to hear that grendelhunter.com has made it to the 65grendel forum. I looked up the thread that I think you are referring to and would like to answer your questions. I'm not going to make it sound like my company is anything it isn't. I certainly understand being leery of a startup company. A lot of small AR businesses have come and gone and left some unhappy customers in their wake. So let me start with your question about how long I've been in business. I started Grendel Hunter in November of 2016, so I do not have a long track record. Prior to starting my company, I had been building AR's for a number of years for myself, my friends and professionally for another company. I realize, of course, that this won't make you any less leery, but this truly is a small, startup home business. I don't build my uppers in my garage, but I also don't have a warehouse full of employees. So far, I have sold a couple dozen uppers. Now that there has been a little bit of time for some customers to get out to the range, I am hoping to get more reviews or references. You mentioned that you are from WI and asked if I have any kind of showroom. Although I do not have a storefront, I do welcome local customers into my home to view and discuss my products. It certainly isn't the Cabelas experience, but I have good, fresh coffee and a willingness to accommodate as much as possible. If you are ever in this area, please let me know. Thank you again for taking the time to message me. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I am about 4 weeks away from having the funds to either buy a complete upper or buy the barrel and bolt to get started with a build. I am thinking about giving Grendehunter.com a try, but will continue to explore other complete uppers or building my own. Will likely be a 16" barrel as I want to keep the weight down, as this will be a shared gun for my middle son (age 11) and myself for him to learn to deer hunt and me to shoot at the range as well as me to use for hunting.

Cool their uppers look pretty good. Their price does not include bcg, bolt, or ch though. Their least expensive compete upper is $530 which is still a very good price. Keep us posted on how it shoots if you order one.

Yep, that's my channel. I will definitely be doing a video on it if I order one. I am excited to get into the 6.5 Grendel cartridge and once the finances allow and I get something to shoot it I will be posting videos on my experiences with guns, ammo, and reloading for it.
