Where to find 1:7.5 twist barrel?

I've been scouring the interwebs looking for a 1:7.5 twist 6.5G with no success. Does anybody know anybody who sells them?

Barrel length isn't a huge deal as I plan to cut down to 14.5" any ways.

    Thanks in advance!

Go with an AA. I ordered a couple of days ago and got a message that it was backordered. Can not beat the price and Bill stands behind his product.

Was wondering the same thing. 6.5x55 was 1/7.75 which will stabilize a 160

It was based off this post

For now, I'll probably use Factory Ammo but after I build up a 100-150 rounds brass I'll probably start reloading. Bullets will likely be based on availability, but in the range of 123-143gr; I can't see myself loading any lighter.

I saw the AA 16" Barrel, I'm afraid I might run into issues cutting it down with the fluting but this could be unnecessary worry for all i know.

The 9/16x24 thread pattern is ideal for properly mounting muzzle devices on lightweight contour barrels where the OD of the fore end is .700", especially if you are going to mount a suppressor on a QD system.

9/16x24 gives you enough shoulder to support washers or precision shims. It doesn't matter much for flash suppressors, but where critical alignment of longer devices is essential, the 9/16x24 on lightweight fore ends is the way to go.

This is why the FAL has 9/16x24 (but Left Hand), as the FAL has a very small diameter fore end on the barrel profile.

My 16" and 18" AA barrels all have 1/7.5" twist. I was pretty astonished the first time I shot my 16" at 1200yds, where the 123gr AMAXs just kept flying true as fast as I could index the reticle and break the shot. My baseline is watching .308 for many years before that, coming apart (gyroscopic decay) once you start hitting 800-900yds with a 12" twist gun and the 168gr SMK.

I had written the little 16" Grendel off as a decent 700yd capable system without really pushing it before that. It is way more capable than that, even from short barrels. This was also at 4400 feet elevation, but the tight twist keeps the projectiles stable through transsonic flight very well.

Anybody know of a source door the 14.5" from the factory. I emailed AA and they said they don't sell any thing in 14.5".

I'm hoping BA drops their upcoming barrel in a 12" with 1:7.5.

Not to rub salt in the wound, IV1982, but shortly after buying my first Grendel, I found one of these for sale in Colorado. Didn't buy it and I've been kicking myself in the arse ever since. A classic from days gone by. http://www.gunblast.com/Alexander-65Lightweight.htm
