.264 barrel with properly head spaced bolt? Bad idea?
Lots of members say they have good results with the 264 lbc, and lots of members say they have good results with the sammi specd grendel barrels.
Its all your choice im sure either barrel will shot good for you, just select a barrel that comes with a headspaced bolt that has the .136 face thats in your price range and install and enjoy.
My grendel has the satern barrel, .136 bolt but has what brownells and satern call the grendel II chamber.
i've been shooting both types , no problems this far--
my AAs and sabers use the deep bolt and my spinta uses a 264 LBC -- both types seem accurate and reliable. i don't think the 264/grendel chamber is an issue provided the bolt matches the chamber.
Found a couple uppers that look good but fall into this category.. Concerns?
Thanks
Frank
If you're using a .136" bolt face depth with a chamber that was reamed for a .124" bolt face, you're going to have problems. What barrel is it and where is the bolt from?
