6.5mm Build - Adjustable Gas - Yes or No?

I have a OEM Colt A2 Stock, spring, and buffer set installed in my lower. Is this Colt spring/buffer combo sufficient for a 6.5 Grendel build or should I hedge my bet with an adjustable gas block?
I am looking a picking up one of the 20" Shilen 6.5 barrels that Midway has on their website right now.

    Thanks,
    Don

That setup should be good unless the gas port is oversize or you end up shooting suppressed.

Are you could do like me install a jp scs and a adjustable gas block. my gas port is over sized so I had to use the adjustable gas block and put the scs to make the gun run smoother and get ride of the annoying stock spring sound when I load are fire my rifle.

Don, I've had one of those barrels for about a year (500 rounds or so). It's on a fixed stock with a standard rifle buffer and fixed gas block. It hasn't had any trouble at all with factory ammo. I have seen 2 or 3 FTE's on some reloads.

I have a Shilen 20" barrel I got from Midway and I'm using a carbine stock. I bought a JP adjustable gas block but I really haven't needed it. The Shilen barrels appear to use the appropriate size gas port. The rifle length gas system on a 20" barrel seems to hit the sweet spot and run just right. My 20" Shilen is accurate and very pleasent to shoot. I bought the adjustable gas block because I was going to experiment with varying bullet weights and powders.

Having an adjustable gas block won't hurt anything so I decided to play it safe and get an adjustable gas block. If I were doing a 20" barrel again I'd buy a fixed gas block.

Rainer Arms sells a Shilen barrel too, 18"& 22" 1/8 twist. Just a FYI, if you join there apex program you'll save money on alot of items they sell and free shipping too.

                  Midway is great too...

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.
