I know both companies that do carbon fiber barrels (including Christensen) were offering a service to turn down and wrap your barrel not too long ago, I assume they still do. I know a gunsmith that buys barrels from Christensen and threads and chambers them for his custom lightweight rifles. They use Shilen blanks, or used to. I don't know about an existing AR barrel though, since the gas port would already be drilled?
Did everyone know that Christiansen Arms is making Grendels?

Just the barrel for the carbon wrap process is around $400. http://saternmachining.com/prices_of_custom_barrelsLast edited by Guest; 09-30-2011, 03:29 AM.

Well so much for carbon barrels for the Minis Here is a quote from where I wanted build my rifles.
It will not work well for the Mini 14 1) operating rod is going to be rubbing on the bottom of the barrel. Not good for carbon fiber. 2) The gas port will be drilled through the barrel into the bore Hot gas are not good for the carbon fiber either.
