What is the life or round expectancy of a grendal rifle

Hi every one i just wanted to know what the round expectancy of the grendel rifle is and are there any issues that i have to watch for this will be my first ar style rifle so i am trying to school myself on the grendel i am a ak47 guy and a 308 guy but recently i was shooting with a friend who has a grendel and i was shooting better with the grendel than with my rem 700 or my springfield m1a1

I shot close to 6000 rounds before I had my first Grendel rebarreled. It would still shoot sub MOA with 1 or 2 loads, but had been a .25 MOA rifle prior to 5000 rounds.

So even after 5000 rounds the barrel would have been fine for hunting.

          Bill,

Does that also help answer some of the questions folks float about life of the bolt and other parts?

Using factory loads, I would expect so. Using hand loads that are normal pressure, too.

Load too warm, and that bolt acts like a safety valve.

Put >7000 rounds through my Grendel bolt action. Lots of those loads too hot. That rifle also has gone from .25 to .80 inches. I've been thinking about rebedding it ; but maybe its barrel is starting to wear.

the barrel tends to last longer than my budget.

That's probably the most succinct reply I've seen to the barrel life question. Well done.

                  Unfortunately, that's my experience, too.
