Wow! I admire his enthusiasm, extreme attention to detail, and wish him a wonderful blessing of success in his new venture. It sounds to me like he's finally able to do his dream business after many, many years so I'm very happy for him.
It's cool that he offers so many weights. Many of us here have been wanting to see if the ballistics of a 115gr might be very well suited to the 65G case capacity.:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets

Any updates on this? I'm interested in 115 data. He makes a 110, but that's close enough to the 107 SMK and 108 Scenar that it's sort of a known quantity.
Other than Alexander Arms brief run of 115 Bergers based off their 120, we haven't seen a 6.5 115. I'm wondering if it might be a very nice sweet spot for the 65G since it splits the difference between 107 and 123?:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets

WillD, I don't have specifics on the Berger 115. Maybe Bill A.? I'm pretty sure Berger just shortened the shank of their 120, which has G1=0.453/G7=0.232.
Bill A. recently mentioned that, all things considered, he thought a 110 bullet is about the perfect sweet spot balance of velocity and BC in the 6.5 Grendel.
So that makes me think we need that perfect nose from the new Berger 130 Hybrid with its shank shortened for a total weight of 110. Less bearing surface should help it get moving sooner, as well.
It's a good day to be a 65G shooter, so much opportunity for improvements and surprising ballistics from this efficient little AR cartridge!
BTW, just for kicks I ran ballistics in JBM for a hypothetical 107 (BC=0.460)@2730, 115 (BC=0.490)@2680, and a 123 (BC=0.520)@2630. [All based loosely on AA's reloading data for Sierra MKs in 24" bbls].
All three were within 0.4" drop of each other at 300 and 2.2" drop at 600.
All three were within 0.6" wind drift in 10mph wind of each other at 300 and 3" drift at 600.
What this says to me is you can hardly go wrong with any of the three, and that our existing 123s are still amazing performers, particularly at range, and that a hypothetical 115 gains one only very small incremental improvements.
Ever since Bill named 110 as the sweet spot for a lead-core bullet, now I'm wondering how the Precision Ballistics 110 performs. How convenient that he offers exactly that weight!:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets
