Barnes Bullets $30 We'll assume PF got a dealer price of $20.
CCI 450 Primers $1.50 We'll assume PF's cost is $1 per 50
Powder based on some quick hand calcs, I'll estimate $5
Labor $25 per hr, I think we can assumed at least an hour of labor from collecting the supplies to sending it out the door.

That's $100 in cost.

11% percent of the price is FAET Tax, so they're actually selling the ammo for $99.

Looks like they're at best selling the ammo at cost.

I do believe the price is more than justified. However, I can't afford to shoot at those prices. Thank God I'm set up to reload.

But then again this isn't a plinking load. If I was paying for a guided hunt in the North West, I'd pick up a box of these in a second. With what the hunt would cost, the price of the quality, accurate, reliable ammo would be a drop in the bucket.

Wolf ammo is nowhere near that quality. The brass is nowhere that quality. It's expensive, but it's high quality. You can compare accuracy to the best of the factory match loads but made with better brass.

Mark from PF cruises through here periodically. If you're not certain what makes his ammo worth the price, I suggest asking him. I'm almost certain he'd oblige you with an answer.

Nice to see what actually is available in factory ammo. Only ever shot Hornady's 123 AMAX.

If the PA ammo at over $2 a round shoots better than AA, BLACKHILLS OR HORNADY I guess it is worth it. If it doesen't well.......

I'd like to note that AA's 120 grain TSX load would cost you $119.73 if you bought 50. PF is the cheaper option.

Cory was on the right track, but failed to mention some other expenses: property taxes, corporate taxes, wages, benefits, payroll taxes, workers comp, liability insurance, mortgage, utilities, web maintenance, and many more I can't think of right now.

I just started loading myself and have at least $500 into the equipment. I'd like to spend another $600 for some upgraded equipment. All this and I'm having difficulty making a load that shoots as good as Hornady loads that I can buy for a buck a piece and sell the once fired brass to recoup some of that $1.

Is $110 a lot of money? Maybe. Pay it or don't. The nice thing about the free market is that if there is a demand, someone will come along and produce a Barnes 120 grain TSX load for $101. Until then, folks should feel free to invest their own time and resources and load their own. No one forces you to buy anything (Obamacare excepted).

The real indicator is the number of established manufacurers, e. G., Wolf and Hornady, offering ammunition for the Grendel.
