    Need ammo - recommendations

My Type II BHW barrel is en route. I already have the bolt and want to verify the barrel is a Type II prior to assembling the upper. I intend on using the below method to verify the barrel is Type II. Problem is I can't find any factory loaded rounds. I know I can use Precision Firearms, but was hoping on a more budget-minded 20 round box of ammo. Does anyone know where I can find a box of 20 factory rounds?

When I was in your situation a year ago, I used gunbroker.com to accumulate the preliminary 6.5 Grendel "ammo fort" ...and now I reload.

If you only need 1 box, here it is:

There is also this filthy ammo:

    I see nothing else anywhere.

Unfortunately Hornady is the only good bang for your buck load and they don't saturate the market like they do with the creedmoor. If you wait it will come.

Wow! Just looked at that box of Hornady for sale on gun broker and by my math $45-/+ for that one box is crazy.

That method will not distinguish what type you get unless you have both bolts to compare as long as the bolt you have is tight on a chambered round you are good to go, type one bolt is .125" 3.175mm deep you can measure that with a ruler it is 1/8" if its deeper than that it's a type 2 at .135" 3.429mm depth though I do recomend you get a simple caliber to measure things the cheap plastic ones that cost a buk or two will cover most of your reloading needs though they can be difficult to use in inch measurements you can get a cheap digital one for 20 bucks I have a realy expensive digital mitutoyo I use at my desk for measuring precision parts when I am hand fitting stuff but I use a cheap plastic set on my reloading bench
