    Check my chronograph/load results

    Here's what I got.

    1st up:

    H335, 100g Nosler BT, CCI #41 primer, 2.245 OAL

    27.5 grains - Avg. 2395
    28.5 grains - Avg. 2502
    29.0 grains - Avg. 2538
    29.5 grains - Avg. 2581
    30.0 grains - Avg. 2626

The most accurate loads were the 29.5 and 30.0 grains, with 29.5 being the best. Would I work in that area (IE 29.6, 29.7, etc etc) for fine tuning?

    2nd up:

    H335, 123g Hornady SST, CCI #41 primer, 2.245 OAL

    25.8 grains - Avg. 2224
    26.1 grains - Avg. 2257
    26.5 grains - Avg. 2276
    27.0 grains - Avg. 2309
    27.5 grains - Avg. 2374

Here, 26.1 and 27.5 grains were my best group, with those in between not that great. Where the heck do I work that one?

This is a 16" 1-8 Black Hole Weaponry .264LBC barrel.

Nice data. Thanks for posting. I would focus on the 27 to 27.5 with the 123 SSTs.

We might be able to provide more help if you could post pictures of the groups.

Wish I could, LOL! It started sprinkling as I was wrapping up so I hurried to get all the equipment (chrono and stuff) put away. By the time that was done it was pouring. The targets were just 8.5x11 pieces of printer paper. Nothing left. I didn't even get to measure them.

That looks like data for a 20 inch barrel. Is that correct?

The 335 is good for the 100 grain and lighter bullets. It's a little fast for the 120-123 grain bullets. It works fine but you won't get optimum velocities.

AA 2520 or CFE 223 will give you 2500 fps or better with 20 inch barrel.

No, it's a 16". I verified the chrono with handloads in my .223 AR. I've shot those loads through several chronographs and gotten very similar velocities in all. This one is no different. I admit though, they seem to be moving pretty quick!

The other powder I currently have available is TAC. I'll load some with that and see what I get. I have a TON of the 335 and 8lbs of TAC. I'm trying to see what I can do with those before I start investing in 10 lbs of different powders lol.

Sure wish manufacturers would sell powder in 1/4lb containers for testing/sample purposes!
