Best place to back order powder?

If you guys were to back order powder online what powder would you order and where would you back order it?

Powder needs to work well with various Grendel and 5.56 loads. 8208 XBR, CFE 223 ??

I would recommend Graff and Sons. It is a small operation, but they're great people and have always taken care of me. Can't say how they do on back orders of powder though...if you have a local gun shop, ask them if you could do an order with some friends.
I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.

Brunos has IMR 8208 XBR in stock . I ordered some yesterday. If you will watch Bruno's,3rd generation, and Graf & sons you will be able to get most all your reloading needs fulfilled!!! I have bought primers, powder, and brass from these guys in the last month. One hint... order enough to hold ya a while.

Powder Valley is cheaper on most of their powders compared to Bruno's so definitely a plus there but Bruno's seems to be more consistent with having product in stock here lately. Plus their ship times have been rather quick compared to most. If you need it now, Bruno's, if you can wait for a few on delivery, Powder Valley.

I use Powder Valley, Grafs, Bruno's, Widners, Midsouth, Champions Choice, Champion Shooters Supply, Third Generation and others. I know a guy who wrote an application that checks each of their web sites daily for specific inventories but he won't share.

The way it works is that powder supplies come into the US in bulk. Right now there is 30 tons of Varget sitting at customs to be cleared as an example. Once it is cleared Hodgdon will test, blend and package and then send it out through distribution channels. Where there is now no Varget on anyone's shelves it will be on everyones shelves in the next month or so. The same is true for Vitovouri and Reloader powders that come from Sweden. Only the ball powders are made here in the US, whether branded as Accurate, Hodgdon, Winchester, or whatever, it is all made by ST Marks in Florida. All the stick powders such as IMR8208, and Hodgdon4350 are made in Austrailia.

I think we are going to see a lot of stick powders suddenly come into inventories over the next few months.

Stokes, how did you find out about ST Marks? I did not know there were any companies in the US making powder for the civilian market.

According to their web page Powder Valley is not currently accepting back orders for powders, primers or any items showing availability as 'out of stock'.

I think every serious shooter/reloader in Florida or South Georgia knows about st. Marks. A lot of the people who have long leaf pines cut off their land also have a company come in and pluck the stumps to make a little money, those stumps are shipped to st. Marks Florida and used in the manufacture of powder. I used to pass by there about twice a month going deep sea fishing and wished I could get my paws on a big drum of powder! Never hurts to dream.

If they ever market it for public sale, it'll go quick.

If you check MSDS (on-line) of a particular powder you will find where they are manufactured.
