Does anyone have a recipe for this combination? I have pretty much standardized on XBR8208 for my non magnum powder since I use it for my 5.56/.223 and my 308.
oh heck yeah man I shot my 120 bts with xbr into under and inch the other day and 1.5 inch at 200 easy i have to go back when i get home and check but am pretty sure it was 26.5 and 27 g both did really well out of 16 inch barrel
The Hodgdon web site lists 6.5 Grendel 8208 loads for 120 gr bullets starting at about 25.0 gr and working up to 28.0 grains. Suggest you start low and work up to 28.0 watching for signs of pressure. Most people here are getting good results around 27.0 - 28.0 grains for the 120 NBT.
I finally was able to pick up a pound of XBR 8208 to try. I only had time to try a few loads with the 100 gr and 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip Bullets.
All of the loads were fired through my 20" Lothar Walther Barrel with the CSS chamber.
