Thanks for this. At least the powder is relatively inexpensive. They don't give those Scenars or BR#4's away!

Needed some figures for Benchmark. The only resource I could find for a 130gn projectile was the Berger manual and those figures were just crazy low. I could see recommendations for a 123gn projectile on the Hodgden site, and Berger's figures just made no sense. I appreciate this data!

My 100gr NBT load is 30.5gr 8208xbr at 2.255"coal. 2800fps from 20" barrel. I dont consider this load hot, higher charges opened the group up so stuck to 30.5gr.Es numbers were under 20fps.

What does "Bloodstained" under my name mean? Did I post a load that was considered too hot or what? I noticed the load data is NOT there.

The forum assigns names for how long someone has been a member of the forum. Bloodstain signifies you’re a new member, unwashed has been a member for a longer period of time and warrior still longer. I’m not sure if your number of post to threads count in the change from a Rookie (bloodstained) to a longer term member like warrior or Cheiftain.

I was never sure what caused the title to change either.

Ok got that, but why was the rest of the post missing (the load data)? Any ideas? Or do I have to click on something to see the whole email?

well, back to the work at hand. BACK when I was shooting in OTC NRA matches (200, 300, 600) in 2005 and before. With a DPMS brand rifle, with a Wilson Gage barrel in 1 in 8 twist for my so called service rifle (yes floating tube), the load that worked great was 24.5 grains of Varget, Std Sm Rifle Winchester Primers, LC Brass and the 77 grain Sierra Match kings. Same load using 80 grain SMK's for the 600 yard line.
SO...of all the loads I have made up for my 3 different uppers in the 6.5 Grendel, (1st was the "sows ear" Bear Creek Arsenal...that never worked), 2nd was the upper redone with a Krieger Barrel that I also have on two other .223's) and thirdly, a total upper from PSA. So Far the PSA has been giving the best results.
HOWEVER. with ALL three different barrels, I always ALWAYS got 13/16 inch group with the 123 Hornady SST's or their 123 ELD's using 27.7 or 27.8 or 27.2 grains of VARGET. I use that load as a "bench mark of sorts". (as it was the best !) These were 5 round groups. These were slow at about 2350 avg as I recall.
I have totally given up on the Hornady bullets and have moved on to the Lupua 108 Grain bullets, using TAC powder (and I may have hit gold) Using the CCI 41 primers, Starline brass the loads (as posted elsewhere)
TAC by Ramshot powder 27.8 and 27.2 108 Gr Scenar LUpua bullet
                            27.2 Gr TAC H 2467 L 2336 AVG 2401 Ext SPRD 131 SD 92 cover 4 with a Quarter last one opened up
                            27.7 Gr TAC H 2452 L 2425 AVG 2438 Ext Sprd 26 SD 13.1 ß all 5 bullets you could cover with a dime!
2.221 overall length. CCI 41 starline brass 2nd firing cut to 1.510 Palmetto armory rifle w/ 1 in 8 twist SS
Timney Trigger drop in 3 pound pull
this "recipe" came from Dianne on this website but she is shooting the heavier bullets (I gave up on them)
I'd like to get the speed up. I'm waiting for it to get cooler out (here in Dallas TX metro area) to try a NEW range also. the last 3 outdoor ones I've been to are NOT to my liking.

and oh, BTW... VARGET always worked great in my .243 Prairie dog rifles, and my M1A Springfields, and my SAR 48, and also my Palma Match rifle in 308.
