I have an 16" AA barrel that I put on a upper that I have built. I have been shooting 123 Amax's with XBR 8082. My brass is fire formed IMI 7.62 brass that I shot out of this rifle. I am also using CCI primers.
My goal is to shoot .75" groups consistantly. Here is some of the data I have been able to get from my shooting.
24.5gr=.221" The next time out = .996"
26.0gr=.386" I stuck with the 26.0gr to keep velocity up. The next 6 times out with the same charge I got .809, .661, .722, .429, .991, and today 1.005" I don't understand why the groups are growing with the exception of a few groups.
Today I shot
26.0=1.005
26.1=1.735
26.2=1.658
I know the rifle can shoot better but I am stumped as to what I need to do????
Any thoughts, tips, or ideas.
I am using a Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50. I am starting to wonder if something is up with it and how it is holding zero while I am shooting.
